The authors

 Len Deeley has over 30 years diving experience all over the world. Of his diving experiences, French Polynesia was unique for him in that he snorkelled and photographed humpback whales in Rurutu as well as sharks in Rangiroa.  “Aliwal Shoals in South Africa was a particularly successful trip for photographing various species of sharks before moving up to Mozambique where I photographed, among other things, whale sharks”.

Karen Gargani is a writer and underwater photographer. She has worked around the world and has been published in the top UK dive magazines. Her most exciting diving experience was a trip to Sudan where she encountered beautiful marine life from several oceanic greys circling around her to dolphins rushing up to greet her.  Sulawesi also holds a special magic for her as it was my first time muck diving. “It blew me away as one moment you are diving in a pile of rubble and leaves, the next minute weird and wonderful tiny creatures emerge like something from another planet, leaf fish, blue ringed octopus, fairy crabs, it’s unreal”
