RIVER DEBEN Entrance Latest Update
As part of a continual improvement of his service, Chris Woods hasmade available, on the eastcoastrivers.com website, a September 09 edition of the River Deben Entrance Sketchmap. Initial examination of the data shows a general reduction in depth with the Mid Knoll shoal and spit moving further south. The spit extending from the Felixstowe shore has also extended further towards the West Knoll buoy. Current buoyage still indicates a good channel although the slightly looser approach to the Mid Knoll might be advisable to avoid the Knolls extending south. Depth over Bar is currently 0.4m at LAT.
The current Deben Entrance buoy positions (15/09/09): Mid Knoll
51° 58.701N 01° 23.428E
West Knoll
51° 58.443N 01° 23.672E
