EAST COAST COCKATOO MISTER MAGOO
Aldeburgh based cockatoo Mister Magoo has just raised over £800 for the RNLI. This amazing sum will go towards training and fitting out a new lifeboat crewman.
The white cockatoo Mister Magoo is very well know in Aldeburgh and can be seen every summer on the front garden wall of his owner's house, not far from Peter Wilson's boatyard at Slaughden. He whistles and talks and runs up and down the wall and generally charms anyone who passes by into stopping to admire him.
This year his owner had the bright idea of suggesting people might like to donate money to the Aldeburgh lifeboat in return for being photographed with him.
The scheme has proved so popular that over £800 has been raised and Mister Magoo has become one of Aldeburgh's visitor attractions.
Apparently when he is not entertaining passers by, he likes nothing better than to go to his local where his favourite order is a digestive biscuit which he dunks into a cup of tea before eating.
