EARLS COURT BOATSHOW ATE MY LIFE by the Wiley Nautical team
Its almost here... the catalogues are printed, the books are being delivered, the press packs are written. I'm sure I've forgotten something but what it is? Who knows. At this late hour who cares?
This is the first time Wiley Nautical has exhibited at a boat show - we may be virgins but we have plenty going on. Here's a quick rundown:
Discover the dramatic story of Gipsy Moth IV
Paul Gelder, author of Gipsy Moth IV A Legend Sails Again was a leading figure in the rescue of GMIV from her concrete tomb, the restoration and second circumnavigation. Her journey encountered a shipwreck, pirate threats and changed the lives of many of her crew. Hear him speak about the highs and lows at the Earls Court Boatshow main stage next Saturday at 14.00 hrs. He'll also be signing copies of his book at various stands - including UKSA, Piplers and Wiley Nautical. Gipsy Moth IV herself will be in the pond at the show - having negotiated the backstreets of Earls Court ( no mean feat)
Bob Fisher's America's Cup
If millionaires, scandal and fast boats are more your thing then roll along to speaker's corner 4pm Thursday 6th December. Bob Fisher, journalist, raconteur and general America's Cup deity will be lifting the lid on sailing's greatest race. If you ask nicely he might even sign you a copy of his 2 volume opus An Absorbing Interest The America's Cup A History Limited copies are still available.. see this link for more information www.wiley.com/go/americas
What else? Ooh loads. Rowing races, weather service gift subscriptions ( for the sailor who has everything you can now give them the weather) launching some website or other (glad you found us, welcome) and the chance to break out of our little cage like workpods and chat to customers, authors, anyone who'll listen really. Hope to see you there. We're on stand: 1L58
